Hockey Gangpur-Odisha added one more trophy to their cabinet by emerging champions in the 5th Junior Women National Championship (B Division) at Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh today. Playing skillful hockey in the hard-fought final, they edged out Hockey Patiala by 2-1 goals.
Earlier in the semifinals, Hockey Gangpur-Odisha hammered Chandigarh Olympic Association 4-1. Hockey Gangpup-Odisha reached the semifinals by winng their first two matches in Pool C and getting walk-over in the last match against Hockey Himachal. They made mincemeat of Hockey Assam 6-0 and Goans Hockey 8-0.
Hockey Gangpur-Odisha secretary Debasish Gouda congratulated the players, chief coach Amulyananda Bihari and Manager Florencia Ekka for the title triumph.

April 26: Gangpur Odisha (Janhabi Pradhan 17-FG, 20-FG, 53-FG; Premita Bara 35-FG, 58-FG; Jiwan Kishori Pradhan 45-PC) beat Assam Hockey 6-0.
April 30: Hockey Gangpur-Odisha (Janhabi Pradhan 1-FG, 6-FG; Jiwan Kishori Toppo 8-FG, 13-FG, 65-FG; Prmanjali Toppo 32-FG, Namrata Jasmin Bara 54-PC) beat Goans Hockey 8-0.
May 1: Hockey Gangpur-Odisha got walk-over Hockey Himachal, who did not appear.
May 4 (SF): Hockey Gangpur-Odisha (Janhabi Pradhan (4-FG, 38-FG; Prmanjali Toppo 17-FG, 32-FG) beat Chandigarh Olympic Association (Kamlesh 58-PC) 4-1.
May 5 (Final): Hockey Gangpur-Odisha (Rinki Kujur gave 6-PC, Janhabi Pradhan 23-FG) beat Hockey Patiala (Manpreet 60-PC) 2-1.
